Mandela's United progresses in domestic cup tournament

Maritzburg United, home to Kenya's full back, Brian Mandela Onyango progressed to last 16 of the domestic competition Nedbank Cup courtesy of 3-1 over Swallows.

Yazid Atouba could have sent Fadlu Davids’ troops ahead eight minutes before time, but his close-range strike was smothered by Ntikinga.   Neither side could find a winning in the closing stages, forcing the clash into extra-time.

Fileccia got his brace in the seventh minute of extra-time, after latching onto a loose ball to power through a strike past Ntikinga, 1-2.   Fileccia did not get a chance to get his hat-trick, as he was withdrawn on the stroke of halftime in extra time, with Mohau Mokate taking his place upfront. For the ABC Motsepe side, their goal came through Tshepo Mashego in the opening half of regulation time. His equalizer forced the game into extra time, where Fileccia got his two goals.
