Nzoia Sugar head coach Bernard Mwalala has castigated the matchday referee for allowing contentious decisions to stand as his team went down to Gor Mahia at Machakos.
Mwalala is categorical that the penalty awarded to Gor Mahia in the second half should not have been allowed to stand as some players were offside. Wesley Onguso did not successfully convert from the spot-kick as his first attempt was ruled out and the second was saved by Mangala.
"The referee had biased decision, the boys have fought but Gor Mahia has taken the three points, the penalty should not have stood, the player was offside. Well, we expect to win and if the boys played like we did today and Gor Mahia have to respect Nzoia. We will have to keep on finishing and keep the ball upfront that has been our major undoing against Gor Mahia, Mwalala said after the match.
The tactician promised to work on the failings his striking force exhibited against Gor Mahia. Nzoia remains with a win so far in the league. They face Zoo on March 17th.
