KCB rose to top the National Super League table after beating then leaders Kibera Black Stars 1-0 at Camp Toyoyo on March 12th.
Chrispinus Onyango's 34th minute is all that KCB wanted to beat Black Stars who had an impeccable run so far. The match was played at 11:00 and paved way for the later kick-off pitting Administration Police against GFE 105. The race in the country's second tier is proving entertaining and tough as only three points separate top teams and fifth-placed Modern Coast Rangers.
A surprising win over Western Stima had seen Black Stars perched at the summit after week five action. KCB, on the other hand, had maintained a perfect run too and a win over the tough Black Stars will surely spur their run going into the next fixtures. Godfrey Oduor, Stars head coach, had earlier warned that his main focus is on growth and improvement, not the promotion to KPL as of now.
"As a team, we have to focus on growth and improvement and not on people opinions on how good we are or else. Anyone who has been following the team will have noticed the steps we made through time. For me, this is more important than anything. Hopefully, we can make it count by pushing for promotion if all goes well," he earlier told Futaa.com.
