Bandari FC head coach Ken Odhiambo has applauded the performance of Ugandan import William Wadri following his exploits during of the KPL weekend match against Sony Sugar.
Wadri scored a brace in the clubs 3-0 victory and coach Ken has described the Ugandan hitman as a great asset to the club whom the team and he will bank on to prosecute opponents in future league matches this season.
The Dockers coach revealed that Wadri, who was not available for pre-season training early this year, had to be taken through a belated preseason training. This confirms the player’s absence in the first four league matches before being introduced in the clubs fifth league match against Gor Mahia in Machakos.
“We introduced Wadri in the last quarter of our previous league match against Gor Mahia in Machakos and he performed quite well and based on that performance, we decided to name him in the starting line up in the following league match against Sony Sugar last Saturday and he delivered as well,’’ Ken explained.
Asked why he decided to rest Wadri after he scored the second, goal coach Ken revealed that the striker had picked an injury after colliding with an opponent.
Wadri joined Bandari at the beginning of the season from Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC.
The dockers travel to Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega this weekend to take on Vihiga United in their next league match and going by Wadri’s top form, the dockers are in a good place.
