Bandari FC kept the league leaders Gor Mahia within arm’s reach by picking a convincing 3 – 0 win over visiting Sony Sugar, in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) on Sunday 11th March at Mbaraki Sports Club, leaving coach Ken Odhiambo elated.
The win was the second of that margin after beating Sofapaka 3 – 0 away from home in the first game of the season and the coach admits the win was a result of the players showing good hunger for a win.
He was particularly elated at the maturity showed by his charges and the confidence, coming from a 0 -2 loss to Gor Mahia and he hopes the players can carry on with the same hunger for the entire season.
“We played well. I think it was our best performance at home this season and I am really glad at the way the players carried themselves.
“They showed the hunger to win and they took their chances, which I believe is what any coach would want from his team. Coming from the loss to Gor Mahia, they elicited good confidence and mentality,” he said.
The win left Bandari third on the log with 11 points, same as second placed Chemelil Sugar, and five points below leaders Gor Mahia.
