Nairobi City Stars may be without the services of their Ugandan born players at the start of the 2013 season, the team’s coach Bye Wadda fears.
The coach admitted a number of players will be leaving for other teams but asked about the three Ugandans who completed the 2012 season at the Kawangware side, he told futaa.com that all or some of them may decide not to come back next year.
The Gambian coach also admitted that of the 2012 lot, 12 of the local players will be retained as the team looks to strengthen and strategise for a better 2013 season.
-Some players will not be coming back in January; am not so sure if the Ugandans will be at the team next season – that remains to be seen but I can confirm that of the 2012 team, we will be retaining about 12 local players.
-I can’t say who they are at the moment because we have not notified them in person and it would be unfair if they learnt of it from the media. We also have a few players we are looking at with view of getting them for next season, he said.
The team finished 13th in the 2012 season with 29 points from 30 matches with Ugandans Joel Ssebuliba, Bruno Sserunkuma and Ken Tumusiime in their ranks.
