Single injury concern for United ahead Brugge clash
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will only miss the services of Phil Jones when his side hosts Belgian outfit Club Brugge on Tuesday 18 August in the Champions League play-off.
Jones is out with a mild thrombosis and he missed the team's 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Friday last week. Speaking to the club's official website, manager Van Gaal warned his players not to be complacent in the game.
Pressure is on
-There’s a lot of pressure because our aim is to reach the Champions League and that is what Arsene Wenger mentioned last year. These kind of matches are difficult. We've drawn Brugge and they can defend very well.
-They can attack also, so it shall be a difficult match – that is why the pressure is high, he said.
Both United and Brugge have had a full weekend to prepare for the first leg, having played on Friday night. Van Gaal last coached a side in the Champions League in 2011 while he was still at Bayern Munich.
