Gor’s ardent fan wants Ze Maria fired

Gor Mahia’s number one fan Jared Otieno popularly known as Jaro Soja has expressed his dissatisfaction with Head Coach Jose Marcelo Fereria’s tactics following their 1-0 defeat to Muhoroni Youth in the Top 8 Cup finals on Sunday 16 October 2016 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Though they reached the Top 8 Cup finals and sit second in the Kenya Premier League table, K’ogalo have been inconsistent in performance this season compared to last season where they won the Premier League title unbeaten.

Wrong decisions

This unpredictability has irked some of their fans and one being their number one supporter Jaro Soja who speaking to Futaa, has claimed that the main problem with the KPL defending champions is their tactician who according to him does not know what he is doing adding he has never liked him since he took over and that if they could get another Head Coach with immediate effect it would save them the embarrassment they are enduring now.

-First of all we have been defeated by Muhoroni Youth fairly so congratulations to Muhoroni for taking the title. The problem was on our side, we wasted a lot of chances in the first half and we could not make anything happen in the second half. Secondly we have a very big problem and that is our coach. Since he took over at Gor Mahia I have never liked him because he does not know how to make substitutions, he does not know his players well; he has just messed us a lot. What I would suggest is if we could get another coach it would be good because this one is not doing anything.

-The guy has been making wrong changes; for example against Muhoroni was even worse. You know even us fans are players, when you see someone who really loves football, at some point in his life he used to play the game, so all these people who come to the Stadium know football and when you hear the fans shout for a change of player kindly listen to the fans’ screams.

Another coach, Hopeful

Jaro Soja though stated that they still remain hopeful of defending their KPL title with five matches remaining for them till end of the season further insisting that Ze Maria is not taking the club anywhere.

-I don’t mean that you always do what the supporters say but when the majority disagree with your choices, then something must be wrong with you so the coach should change his methods so again he should listen to the fans because we are also players otherwise we don’t have coach, actually he is the biggest problem in Gor Mahia. I’m asking if we could get another coach today it would help us a lot because the current one will take us nowhere.

-We still have hope because you know a soldier never says die and I’m a soldier so I can’t say that Tusker have already taken the League. I will say that on the last day when Gor have lost it all, so at the moment I can say tomorrow is another day and we live to fight another day so I’m still hopeful that we will win the League.

Gor Mahia clash with on-form Western Stima on Wednesday 19 October 2016 at Nyayo National Stadium for their next Kenyan Premier League assignment.
