Muho attributes Gor toppling to proper game plan
After their historic win in the Top 8 Cup finals where they beat big wigs Gor Mahia on Sunday 16 October 2016 at the Nyayo Stadium, Muhoroni Youth Team Manager Elly Onyuka revealed that their plan to contain K’ogalo worked well for them.
Muhoroni soaked in the pressure but denied their opponents any chance to find the back of the net and they pounced on their one goal scoring chance that they got in the 62nd minute with Kennedy Rono becoming the hero of the day.
Speaking to Futaa.com, Onyuka admitted to having defense lapse as the game started but they grew into the clash as they played according to their plan that was to contain K’ogalo in order to frustrate them.
-I can say that in the first half we had not settled in the game very well because we had lapses in the defense but later we came into the game so our boys played well. Our game plan was not to concede any goal even if we din’t score because we know how Gor Mahia plays and if you don’t allow them to score in the first half then in the second half they are under pressure and in fact we capitalized on that before finally scoring against them. The boys played per the instructions given.
-Surely ever since we entered into this competitive league I would say that this was our first attempt because this is our fourth year in the League and this is our first trophy so we wanted this trophy very much. The next game we head to Sofapaka and I hope we shall win.
