Thika takes lead as Vihiga sides thump opponents in high scoring weekend

FKF Women premier League rolled to week four of action with four matches on card on both Zone A and Zone B on May 20 and 21, 2017 at various venues.

Zone B heavyweights Vihiga Queens  harvested heavily as they easily saw off Nyamira Starlets 7-0 at home.Cynthia Shirwatso opened her score sheet in the ninth minute before adding another two in the 36th and 87th minute.Maureen Ater piled more more pressure to Starlets as she scored a hat trick goals coming in the 12th, 60th and 83rd minute. Euphresia Afwayi got on the score sheet by pulling one in between Ater's hat trick.

Goals galore 

Vihiga Leeds on the other hand mercilessly thrashed Bulemia 6-2 in another Zone B encounter.Pauline Mzungu rose to covert from the spot kick in the 30th minute to open a floodgates of goals.After half time Mzungu continued with her fine goal scoring hunt as she put one more past  Bulemia's net. Laura Asembo got her brace for Vihiga in 34th and 63rd minute. Sailmu Samwel added the final goal in 85th minute.

Maryline Nabwire and Zubediah Chebii pulled two for Bulemia in 83rd and 88th minute.

At Camp Toyoyo Makolanders beat Soccer Sisters 5-4 with Florence Adhiambo and Tabaka Chacha scoring for the Zone A fourth placed side. Margaret Nyambura scored two for the sisters as Anne Gorety and Christine Njoki scored one each.That means the sisters remain at the bottom of the log and winless.

Meanwhile, Thika Queens took the driving seat of the FKF Women Premier League Zone A after they trounced Spedag 1-0 in the league match played on Sunday 21 May 2017 at Mombasa Sports Club. 

After a barren stalemate at the breather Fauzia Omar broke the deadlock in the 55th minute to score the all important goal for the visitors leaving the Thika Qeens side with a total of 10 points from four matches, one point ahead of second placed Mombasa Olympic and seven points ahead of Spedag.
