Mathare duo sign contract extension

Mathare United has expressed pleasure in the announcing the signing of extensions by skipper George “Wise” Owino and midfielder Edward Seda who renewing their contracts on Friday 23 June. 

Their contracts were due to expire at the end of the month of June 2017, the club opted to hand the duo a one year extension that will see them remain at the club until June 2018. Seda, termed the new deal as a morale booster ahead of his imminent return in the second leg. He has recently recovered from a nagging ankle injury that kept him out of action for the entire first leg.

Top 9

Team Captain George Owino, expressed his desire to guide the club to a top 9 finish, emphasising that he is not yet thinking of retirement in the near future, despite being 36 years old. He insisted he is focused on playing football to his level best. Mathare will have to improve their game play, if they are to achieve the top 10 position in the log as it is languishing at the bottom of the Kenya Premier League Log.
