FIFA ban relieves Kenyan trio from action

Zesco United Kenyan trio will not be inaction for the weekend CAF Confederation Cup following the ban slapped on Sudan FA on Thursday 6 July by World Football Governing Body(FIFA).

A communique from CAF's acting General Secretary Essam Ahmed has confirmed of the cancellation of the clash slated for Sunday 9 July with the ban extending to Zesco's match day 6 opponents, Al Hilal Obeid.

Meanwhile, the final situation of the Group C standings will be determined by the continental body.

-Consequently, El Hilal El Obied club is not allowed to participate in CAF matches and it’s disqualified from CAF inter-club competitions in accordance to FIFA’s decision. The aforementioned match is hereby cancelled and will not take place as scheduled. The final situation of group C of the competition will be announced soon, the letter read in part.

The move comes as blow for the Sudanese outfit who were top of the group after six games and had already made the trip to Zambia.
