Neymar completes world record move to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain announced on Thursday evening that ex-Barcelona star Neymar Jr has joined them in a stunning £198m move.

The Ligue 1 giants proudly shared the news with football fans around the world on their official social media account (Twitter), effectively ending weeks of speculation on the Brazilian’s future.

Controversy surrounds the 25-year-old’s shocking exit from Camp Nou as a number of La Liga officials and managers from a number of top clubs of Europe have alleged that the transfer could in no way be legal since it clearly violates UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules - a development that is likely to land PSG in legal trouble should president of the Spanish Football league, Javier Tebas, carry out his threat to report the Parisians.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi went on record to express the club’s “joy and pride” at landing “one of the very best players in the world” in a move that is likely to guarantee that the Red-and-Blue’s reclaim their dominance in both local and international competition.
