09 Aug 2017, 12:08

Kenyan Premier League governing council has called off all round 20 matches that were scheduled for Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August because of the ongoing  general elections.

All KPL teams allowed players and technical bench members take part in the electoral process and now KPL has confirmed that the matches will be played at a later date. Round of 21 matches will be played on Wednesday 16 August.

-Following consultations with Chairmen of Premier League Clubs, the 2017  Premier League Season Round 20 matches have been postponed. This is due to clubs lacking ample time to prepare and train for the matches as members of their technical staff and players had travelled to various parts of the country to vote during the General Elections which were held on Tuesday, 08 August 2017.

 - Premier League matches will resume on Wednesday, 16 August 2017 with Round 21 matches. The Round 20 matches will be rescheduled to new dates that will be communicated by the end of the week, KPL said in a statement.

Gor leads the 18-log team with 37 points.
