Respite for Spurs as Wanyama declared fit for opener

Tottenham Hotspur has been handed a major injury reprieve with Victor Wanyama announced fit for Sunday 12 August tie  at Newcaste United.

The foregoing comes a week after the robust midfielder was pronounced among Spurs' injury concerns as he struggled with a knee problem

The problem saw him miss two of Spurs final preseason ties against AS Roma and Juventus.

Trusted stewards

The midfielder, one of most trusted members of Mauricio Pochettino team in his first season at White Hart Lane, is joined by Korean Heung Min-Son in the returnees list.

 Danny Rose, Erik Lamela are among those who will miss the opener.
