Fenerbahce sign Tottenham's striker

Fenerbahce have confirmed a deal has been agreed in principle to loan Vincent Janssen from Tottenham.

The Turkish giants were hopeful of loaning Chelsea's  striker Diego Costa, though admitted on Thursday that a deal which initially looked close to completion was now unlikely. Attentions turned to Janssen, who was made available by Spurs during the summer transfer window with Brighton failing to secure a loan move on deadline day and Lille revealing this week they turned down the chance to sign the Dutchman.

Following Fernando Llorente's £12million arrival from Swansea City, Janssen was the only fit first-team players not included in Tottenham's Champions League squad for the group stage.

Janssen will link up with fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie and former Spurs striker Roberto Soldado, while Spurs have previously loaned former striker Sergei Rebrov to the Turkish side back in 2002.
