Liverpool to appeal Mane’s ban
Liverpool are reportedly preparing to launch an appeal against winger Sadio Mane’s three-match ban.
The marksman was given his marching orders after kicking Manchester City goalie Ederson Moraes in the head, which proved to be the turning point of the match as the 10-man Reds squad went on to be thrashed 5-0 by the Cityzens.
City boss Pep Guardiola went on record on Saturday to empathise with Mane since that tactician believes that the 25-year-old’s actions were not intentional. The tactician however advised the club not to pursue an appeal since it would be a waste of time.
The hearing to decide the appeal will be held on Tuesday, though the tribunal is expected to uphold and not overturn referee Jon Moss’ decision.
