WPL Review: Weekend of 'crowning' for Queens

Vihiga Queens were the biggest weekend winners after thrashing their opponents Wadia 6-2 in their Women Premier League Zone B match and stretch their lead atop the standings. 

Engesha Teresa enjoyed a goal fest in the match netting five goals in the 7th, 13th, 16th,44th and 69th. Harambee Starlet Aquina Corazona the sealed the win in the 77th minute with the only caution being on Situma Topister. Wadadia scored their consolation goals by Ruth Chebungei in the 59th minute and Merab Ochieng' in the 62nd minute. 

In another Zone B match, Vihiga Leeds secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over opponents Palos Ladies in their weekend league action. Vihiga Leeds scores through a Musungu Pauline brace in the 5th and 19th minutes. Palos Ladies pulled one back courtesy of Sarah Juma in the 58th minute. 

More Queens 

In Zone A action, table toppers Thika Queens2 thrashed Spedag 4-0 in a largely one-sided affair. The sharp-shooting side netted the goals through Mercy Achieng's opener in the 6th minute before Fauzia Omar added a second in the 38th to mark the close of the first half. 

Thika stretched the tally from where they had left in the 48th minute through Mercy Achieng before Fauzia Omar converted a penalty in the 78th minute sealing the much-deserved win.
