United duo left out of Watford squad

Marouane Fellaini and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have not travelled with the Manchester United squad that left for Watford on Monday night.

United take on Watford at Vicarage Road on Tuesday hoping to put the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City. The Red Devils are eight points behind City and could cut the gap to five by beating Watford with the Sky Blues playing on Wednesday night.

Jose Mourinho seems to have left behind Fellaini and Mkhitaryan behind in Manchester, as well as defender Luke Shaw. The United boss has recalled Daley Blind, Jesse Lingard and Matteo Darmian to the squad with the trio snapped at the train station with the rest of their team-mates. Fellaini and Mkhitaryan played in the weekend win over Brighton while Shaw is still waiting to make his first Premier League appearance this season.

United are gunning for their third league win in a row as they continue to recover from recent setbacks against Chelsea and Basel. Watford is flying high this season under Marco Silva with six wins from 13 games.
