Put: Harambee Stars, like Germany, enroute to World Class football

Before the CECAFA Senior Challenge tournament commenced, Harambee Stars head coach Paul Put made a promise that this is an opportunity for him to prepare the team for future AFCON qualifications.

So far the Belgian and Stars have hard rather successful appearance beating first match opponents Rwanda 2 - 0 at Bukhungu Stadium before being held to a goalless draw by Libya in Machakos. But the coach will surely not be judged on a two match basis.

Germany and Spain Examples

-There is a long road to travel and a lot has to be changed but you cannot change with one minute. It takes time. For example Spain and Germany who ruled the world for a long time started building with young players before getting to the top.We have the belief, I trust the players and we will do everything possible to make the Kenyan fans happy, the coach said in an earlier interview with journalists.

-So far it has been good; the will is there and I can see the motivation of the players. It’s a good sign already. There is a long way to go and a lot of work to do, but as long as the players want to work and there is a good mentality of them wanting to improve we will be able to have a team to show Kenyan people we are willing to play, he added.
