Happy return for Mandela as United score four to end goal drought

Kenyan defender Brian Mandela marked a winning return to the pitch as Maritzburg United thrashed Cape Town City 4-2 in thrilling league action at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday 5 December.

The win had the Team Of Choice put an end to an eight-game barren streak and what a day to resume first-team action for Mandela who appeared as a 75h minute substitute.

Fadlu Davids side was forced to dig from deep after going down to Masena's 17th-minute goal.

Mohau on brace

The visitors' response was a good with foals from Pogisho Sanoka and Mohau Mokate brace in space of four minutes turning the tie back on its head.

Siphesile Ndlovu's fourth goal in added time all but wrapped the win just moments after the host got their second through an own goal.

The victory sends United to tenth on the log.
