Court stops Thika United -Ushuru play-off

06 Dec, 07:55

The two-legged play-off matches between Thika United and Ushuru FC that were slated for Wednesday 6 December and Sunday 10 December have been halted after Thika United obtained a court injunction stopping the matches

On Tuesday 5 December, Thika United moved to the Sports Disputes Tribunal to stop the play-off arguing that the decision to have 16th placed KPL side and 3rd placed National Super League (NSL) take part in a play-off wasn't communicated at the start of the season as it should be, they want the new rule to be effective from next season.

The SDT has now issued an injunction stopping the matches until the case presented by the Nicholas Muyoti coached side is heard and determined.
