CECAFA: Zanzibar, Ethiopia beat Kenya to best starters as tourney takes first break

Action in the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup is set to move off the pitch this Wednesday 6 December as teams take a day break until Thursday.

All participating nine teams have already tasted the piece of the action with Zanzibar and Ethiopia recording best starts with respective 3-1 and 3-0 victories over Rwanda and South Sudan.

Kenya, who remain unbeaten after two games, lead the five-team Group A by four points, one behind Zanzibar who is second with three points.

Ethiopia top proceedings in Group B with three points, two ahead of Burundi and Uganda who played to a barren draw on Monday.

Tanzania vs Zanzibar derby

Thursday action will see three games on the roster. Tanzania and Zanzibar will light up Group A action in a fierce derby in Machakos before Rwanda and Libya lock horns in the second match.

Ethiopia will play Burundi in Group B tie in Kakamega.

Holders Uganda will be back in action on Friday as they hunt for their maiden win against South Sudan.

On Saturday 9 December Group A will be back on the action as Kenya face off against Zanzibar a team that in 2015 edition.
