Sofapaka assistant head coach John Baraza has promised that his side is scouting for the best talent ahead of the new season and hopes that the team will challenge for honours.

Batoto Ba Mungu will start their Kenya Premier League campaign against Bandari and the Top 8 against AFC leopards. Baraza believes though his team defeated the two opponents in the concluded season, he avers that they will accord them the respect they deserve.

Respect!

- Last year, we were above Leopards, Kakamega Homeboyz and Leopards in the pecking order of the KPL but we ought to give them due respect since they are also strong sides. The most important thing for us is to continue working hard to keep the bar high, Baraza told the club website.

- We are shopping around for the best signings and hopefully, we should be able to challenge for the top honours in the upcoming season, he concluded.

Sofapaka beat AFC Leopards 1 -0 before finishing the double over them with a 2 - 0 later. Against Bandari, the first result ended in a 1-1 stalemate before Bandari succumbed to  a 2- 1 defeat at home.
