Philippe Coutinho will captain Liverpool in their crunch Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow at Anfield tonight.

The Brazilian attacker gets the armband after Jurgen Klopp decided to leave skipper Jordan Henderson out of his starting line up. Klopp has decided to go with a midfield three of Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum and Coutinho.

The Reds boss has made five changes following the 5-1 win at Brighton in the Premier League last weekend. Joe Gomez, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno all return at the back, while Loris Karius takes over from Simon Mignolet in goal.

There is also a start for Sadio Mane, who was rested for the game against Brighton. The Senegal international will form a front three with Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool: Karius, Gomez, Klavan, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Milner, Henderson, Sturridge, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke, Alexander-Arnold.
