Cecafa: Ethiopia coach eyeing Cranes' scalp

Ethiopia National team coach, Ashenafi Bekele is hopeful that his youthful side can down Uganda in their final group B match on Sunday 10 December in order to have a chance of progressing to the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup semis after Thursday 7 December 1-4 thwarting from Burundi

Ethiopia won their opening match against South Sudan before they were humbled by Burundi. Next for them is one of the title favourites Uganda Cranes and Bekele is hoping that his going side can down the defending champs to progress.

Youthful side

-Yes if we win the next game and depends on other results but we continue to prepare for better things though our young players haven’t been exposed to international games and the first were these ones yet they are only 17 and 19 years of age.

-We are working on winning next game by having the winning mentality so that we get past group stage though this was a bad game for us but we need to prepare for a win. These players need more games and this will help them develop confidence, he said.

Ethiopia will be hoping to redeem themselves in Cecafa after failing to qualify for Chan 2018.
