Homeboyz lauds sponsorship after Leopards stalemate

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Mike Mururi has welcomed the support from the county government saying that it will help their quest for Kenya Premier League next season.

Mururi, speaking after their 0 - 0 draw against their cousins AFC Leopards at the new Bukhungu stadium, the coach promised to add some new faces as they scout in the ongoing transfer window.

- I personally welcome the coming in of the county government, it will push us further in our quest for the title next year.  About the match, my boys really played well considering the fact that a number of them were on trial. There are areas we are trying to work on as a team but be rest assured of a few new inclusions as we progress, Mururi said after the match.

Earlier Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula welcomed Governor Oparanya's support starting next season.

 - I am very happy right now and I want to thank the County Government for deciding to help Homeboyz which is the only KPL team from Kakamega. Running a club without a sponsor is not easy, we've struggled in the past but now with help from the government things will be a little bit better on our side, Homeboyz,  Shimanyula earlier told Futaa.com.
