Nzoia Sugar FC midfielder Lawrence Juma has joined Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions, Gor Mahia on a three-year deal.
After impressing for the millers in 2017 where he was the club's top scorer with 8 goals and 9 assists, Juma was a target of several KPL sides including AFC Leopards, Tusker FC and Gor Mahia. He has however opted to join the champions.
-Lawi is great professional and a disciplined boy, he's destined for greatness. As a coach, it's sad to see such a player leave but once player says he wants to progress his career elsewhere then we have no choice but to let him go, we wish him the very best at Gor Mahia, Nzoia coach Bernard Mwalala told Futaa.com.
The Nzoia Sugar tactician hopes the attacking midfielder gets adequate play time at Gor Mahia.
-He was a key player during his time here and my prayer is he gets to play regularly at Gor Mahia, he needs it to continue developing. He has the talent and right attitude to be the best, he added.
With Kenneth Muguna's future at Gor Mahia in doubt, the KPL champs have moved into rope in Lawi as his possible replacement.
