Europe training, friendlies for Harambee Stars on course

Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa has confirmed that plans to have Harambee Stars pitch camp in Europe ahead of AFCON Qualifiers against Ghana are underway.

Stars are the CECAFA Senior Challenge owners and Mwendwa says it is the desire of the coach and FKF to extend the same fete to more competitive games like qualifiers.

- We are planning to have our team camp in Europe for about a month or at least two weeks preferably in March when our foreign-based players will be available.

-We are also planning the team to have friendlies there for the new coach to be able to bond the local guys and the foreign ones and assemble a strong team, Mwendwa said in a luncheon for Stars at a Nairobi hotel.

Kenya is in tough Group F AFCON qualifiers and faces giants Ghana in the next match before hosting Ethiopia home and away after. Stars lost the first match against Sierra Leone 2-1 in Free Town in June.
