Thika suffers injury blow ahead of Ushuru encounter

Thika United has received an injury blow ahead of Kenya Premier League promotion second leg encounter against Ushuru Fc on December 24.

Midfielder Michael Mutinda who was stretched off during the first leg match at Thika Sub County Stadium is suffering from an ankle injury and will be sidelined for three months before embarking on rehabilitation.

- Michael Mutinda suffered an ankle injury during the crunch tie and according to the X-Ray reports from the medic team showed he had a Dancer Fracture on the base of the fifth Metatarsal.

- Further details indicate that the player who is currently on crutches, will be out of action for a period of two months, before rehab training commences, the club statement read.

Thika carries a 2-1 advantage to the second showdown as they try to retain their KPL status. Meanwhile, Ushuru will need a win of the same margin to reclaim a spot in the top tier.
