Chelsea is reportedly lining up a £20m bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
Sources claim that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has rekindled his pursuit of the Englishman in order to further bolster his midfield options as they look to give league leaders and bitter rivals Manchester City a run for their money in the race for the league’s top honours.
Barkley, whose current contract with Sam Allardyce’s side is set to expire at the end of this season, came close to joining the Blues in a £35m deal last summer before the midfield maestro opted to remain with the Toffees due to fitness struggles.
Everton is rumoured to be keen on offloading Barkley in the ongoing transfer window in order to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season - a development which is a huge boost for Chelsea since it puts the defending champions in a position to negotiate for a lower transfer fee.
