Zesco ace proud of CECAFA winning Stars

Zesco United star Anthony Akumu is relishing the prospects of playing in the Koth  Biro finals against God Above All from Huruma on January 7 at Ziwani grounds

Akumu was part of the team that saw off Beirut in the semifinals and the Kenyan defender felt that God's power and motivated teammates helped South B reach the ultimate phase.

- I thank God for helping us reach the finals but you also saw how motivated our side was. Particularly Paul Were gave us a very good attacking edge from the flanks, Akumu said.

He also added his voice congratulating Harambee Stars for winning the CECAFA trophy. The FAZ league winner with Zesco also felt disappointed for CAF to relocate CHAN to Morocco.

- Winning CECAFA should be the pride of everyone who loves our football team, especially that we did it with local players. They did a wonderful job and I believe they showed their talents to the entire world,  he said.

South B will be looking to field a strong side that surprisingly got them to this point as they aim to claim the title for the first time ever.
