Arsenal supporters were fuming as Petr Cech decided to tweet during the side’s dismal 4-2 defeat in the FA Cup at Nottingham Forest.
Arsene Wenger had never lost in the third round of the competition, but Forest’s victory saw the holders crash out of the competition on the City Ground.
David Ospina put in an unconvincing display between the sticks for the away side and Petr Cech was forced to watch the match from home – or that was the plan anyway. However, instead of scrutinising his team-mates’ shocking performance at Forest, the Czech goalkeeper bizarrely chose to tweet just moments after Ben Brereton’s goal to make it 3-1 in the second-half.
-’You’re welcome! Great tournament, well done to you!’ Cech replied to a previous tweet thanking him for an appearance at a youth team tournament.
Arsenal fans, unsurprisingly, tore into the shot-stopper for the timing of his tweet and he was forced to explain himself.'
-‘I’m watching,’ Cech insisted when asked why he wasn’t keeping an eye on the game.
