Vihiga United winger Christopher Masinza has snubbed KPL giants Tusker FC and extended his contract with the Kenyan Premier League newbies.
Masinza, who played a key role in Vihiga's promotion quest was Tusker FC target and had even requested his club to let him join the now Sam Timbe coached Brewers. The speedy winger has however opted against moving to Ruaraka and will spend the 2018 season with his boyhood club.
According to Vihiga United chairman Kahi Indimuli, the player had requested to quit the club before later changing his mind and opted to extend his deal with the county government-sponsored side.
-The player told me that he had been approached by Tusker and that he wanted us to allow him to join them. I advised him to go and deeply think through the decision before making any move. After a while, he returned and told me he wants to continue with us. He has signed an improved contract and we are happy to have him here because he is one of our best players here, he told Futaa.com.
Vihiga has already re-signed Michael Isabwa from Kariobangi Sharks.
