Liverpool has reportedly opened talks with Leicester for winger Riyad Mahrez.
English news outlet Daily Express has claimed that the Reds are desperate to find a replacement for former playmaker Philippe Coutinho and that boss Jurgen Klopp has made Mahrez his top transfer target since the tactician believes that the Algerian is a viable replacement.
Mahrez, who has scored seven goals and registered seven assists in 22 Premier League appearances this season, has quickly re-established himself as a creative force this season, subsequently garnering the attention of a number of top teams.
The aforementioned report has however further disclosed that the 26-year-old is keen on securing a move to Arsenal instead since the midfield maestro believes that the Gunners would better accommodate his style of play - a development which could ultimately jeopardise Liverpool’s hopes of landing the linchpin.
