Age just a number! Not one but two more seasons for Mathare skipper

Mathare United skipper George 'Wise' Owino believes he can still play at the top level for one or two more years before hanging his boots

The defender turns 37 later this year and the widely travelled former Kenyan international is fast nearing the sunset of his illustrious career. 

Wise has played for Tusker FC, Sofapaka, Yanga and Simba in Tanzania, St. George in Ethiopia among other clubs picking several accolades from the sides.

 He was on Friday 12 January named 2017 Kenyan Premier League defender of the year and speaking to the club website, the defender believes he can still put a strong perfomance for the next two seasons.

Just a number

 -Age is just a number. This award gives me the motivation to work harder and ensure the team finishes in a better position this season. I still have the energy to keep going. I have one or two years left before I hang up my boots, he said. 

Wise will an eyeing a better season with Mathare in 2018 after battling relegation for the entire 2017 season.
