Kariobangi Sharks has announced the signing of Western Stima goalkeeper Gad Mathews on a four-year deal.

The news come after Sharks number one goalkeeper Jeff Oyemba extended his stay at the club. The club also signed Harrison Mwendwa from Mathare United as William Muluya strengthens his side before season's kick off.

"The club is delighted to announce the capture of goalkeeper Gad Mathews from Western Stima FC on a 4- year deal," Sharks posted.

Team structure

Mathews reveals that it is the Sharks' team structure that played a big role in his move. He believes that it is at Sharks where he is bound to grow career wise.

"It is a pleasing moment to be joining Kariobangi Sharks FC. I'm humbled to be here and one of the reasons I joined this team is because of their good structures and their program that nurtures young players. I am still young and I believe this is the best club to continue developing my career," Mathews said.

Western Stima is bound to spend the entire 2018 plying trade in the National Super League after relegation from KPL owing to bad campaign in 2017. Mathews also played for the now disbanded Palos FC.
