Kenyan Premier League side Mathare United has re-signed goalkeeper Robert Mboya from Kariobangi Sharks, a year after he ditched at the Slum Boys for William Muluya coached side.

Mboya moved to Sharks in January 2017 after the expiry of his contract with Francis Kimanzi. He started as the first choice keeper but lost his place to John Oyemba a few matches into the new season. Following Levis Opiyo's transfer to Posta Ranger, Mathare has opted to bring Mboya back, a move confirmed through its social media pages.

Mboya returns

"Robert Mboya is back at the club after spending one year at Kariobangi Sharks. The shot stopper penned a three year deal to become the eighth player to join the club this transfer window. He is a valuable addition to a department that already has Wycliffe Kasaya and Job Ochieng' who was promoted from the youth team,".

Mboya will be hoping to win the starting place in the team.
