Netherlands is expected to name Ronald Koeman as the new manager.

Everton parted ways with Koeman in October last year following 5-2 defeat against Arsenal. He had spent more than £140m on new signings but left the Toffees in the relegation zone. Koeman had previously spent a successful two-year spell in charge of Southampton, guiding them to seventh and sixth place finishes in Premier League.

New role

The 54 year old is now set to be given the chance to revive the fortunes of his national side. Netherlands have failed to qualify for the past two major tournaments and have turned to Koeman after Dick Advocaat's resignation at the end of last year.

Koeman won 78 caps for the Netherlands in a distinguished player career and has spoken in the past of his desire to manage his country. According to

De Telegraaf,

Koeman who has been in charge of Toffees for 16 months, will be unveiled as the new Oranje boss next week.
