Matano: We will win in Madagascar

12 Feb, 16:30

AFC Leopards head coach Robert Matano is sure that his team will win the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary stage match against Fosa Juniors of Madagascar away.

The 1-1 draw at Bukhungu Stadium means that  an uphill task awaits the 2017 GOTV Shield winners as their opponents already have an way goal. Yussuf Mainge scored the first CAF goal for Ingwe before his strike was leveled by Rado Mbolassoa.

“We will win the second leg, I assure you. Today (February 12th) we played very badly and I feel we did not give 100 per cent. At least I know what to do in the return leg and also I know a bit about our opponents,”  Matano said after the match.

The Leopards opened their Kenya Premier League campaign with yet another 1-1 against Posta Rangers at Afraha and will face Wazito in the next assignment. The last time the two sides met in a competitive clash was during the GOTV quarter finals where Leopards beat Wazito 7-1.
