Sofapaka rejoices in rewarded effort

Sofapaka head coach Sam Ssimbwa has hailed the team's bounce back to beat Kakamega Homeboyz over the weekend at Mumias Complex.

Sofapaka were humiliated by Bandari in the opening match and the Ugandan coach feels rewarded after getting the first three points of 2018 season from stubborn opponents.

"We pushed a lot in the final half and we were rewarded at the end. I am happy that after losing 3-0 in the opening league game we beat Homeboyz on road. It is a sweet revenge because we drew in the home game and lost the return leg here in Mumias,” he said in his post match interview.

Ssimbwa hinted that he had Homeboyz' game plan on his palms hence that influenced their match plan and contributed to the eventual win.

“We had planned well because we knew how they play. We created many chances than they did and scoring in the dying minutes of the clash was crucial,” he continued.

Ssimbwa is in Uganda and is expected to join the team later in the week.
