Jamie Carragher has insisted he was right to Arsenal “cowards.”

Carragher claims the Gunners have descended into an “embarrassment this season. Wenger’s men suffered a 1-0 loss in the hands of rivals Tottenham and now remain seven points off the top four. Harry Kane's second half header was the difference on the day, but despite only one goal in the game, it was something of a thrashing. Carragher was extremely critical of Arsenal's mentality at the back end of last season, when the Gunners again failed to qualify for the Champions League. In his assessment, the ex-Liverpool man feels Arsenal are getting worse.

“I have always questioned Arsenal's mentality, but I have always thought they are good enough. I still question their mentality, but they are not good enough now, and that's the big thing. Arsenal are actually getting worse. They're not getting better. Carragher said on Monday Night Football.

If you go back to the Monday Night Football we did, I think against Crystal Palace, at the back end of last season, I called them cowards.” he added.

Carragher also questioned Wenger for not signing a defender during the January transfer window.
