3 points in the bag for Nzoia as good form continues

Nzoia Sugar managed to bag three points at Sudi Stadium on Sunday 15th April against Bandari FC. 

The game started swiftly with both teams pressing hard on both halves in search of an early goal. By the 8th minute, Elvis Rupia made an attempt but his low shot was blocked by Meja. Wakanya made an attempt from 20 yards but his shot went over the bar.

Lone goal

In the 14th minute Nzoia netted in the first and what would be, the only goal. Victor Omondi scored a good goal whilst in a composed stature inside the 6 yard box.

Bandari began working hard to level matters after conceding but Nzoia equally worked to protect their lead and extend it. Festus made an attempt but his shot did not threaten the visitor’s side. Wakanya missed a chance after connecting a pass from Rupia but slipped giving Farouk an easy task to stop it. 

Rupia made another attempt but failed to connect Otinya’s cross from the right flank.

Slippery ground

The ground proved to be slippery after it rained the whole day yesterday.Nzoia enjoyed more of the possession and this piled more pressure on Bandari. By the time the teams were breaking for half time it was still Nzoia in the lead.

The second half starts on a high note. Wandera made a good delivery on the left flank which found Victor but Farouk was ready and equal to the task. In the 53rd minute, Otinya with another attempt but fails to score near post after Farouk blocked him.  However, 3 minutes later, there was another one on one chance for Otinya inside the 6 yard box but he blasted the ball directly to the keeper who blocked with his knees.

Nzoia Sugar made their first substitution with Patrick Otieno coming in for Otinya.  Nzoia stuck in Bandari’s half giving them pressure to score more goals Festus delivered the ball from the right wing but Victor’s tap in hit the crossbar. Elvis Rupia had another chance but the ball went past the goal.

Game halted

The game was halted after Victorwent down after Nkata stepped on him. He was stretchered off and the gme resumed in the 84th minute.

The Dockers made great efforts to get back into the game but by full time, the pendulum was still on Nzoia's side as they won the game with their lone 14th minute goal.
