Jose Mourinho has rubbished suggestions claiming that their weekend 1-0 loss to West Brom gifted Manchester City the coveted Premier League title.
Speaking to Sky Sports at the post-match press conference following the disheartening defeat, the tactician said, "I won titles. I wouldn't be happy if someone says that I won the title because somebody loses a match. "
The Special One continued, Manchester City won the title because they have more points than anybody else. You cannot say that Manchester City won the title because Manchester United lost a game."
Many argue that United deserved their defeat to the Baggies in what was arguably their worst outing of the season. The Red Devils looked like a shell of the side that rallied back to beat City 3-2 earlier this month, and only had four shots on atarget in the entire match where the English giants failed to display the fighting spirit and club pride that has always characterised them.
