Wazito boss blames slow first half, wastefulness for loss
Wazito FC head coach Frank Ouna says his side lost to Chemelil Sugar on Sunday 15th April for being the second-best team in the first half and failing to capitalize on the opportunities they created in the match.
The Nairobi based side was thrashed 3-1 at the Chemelil Sports Complex in the 1 pm kick off. Collins Neto grabbed a double while the other Chemelil goal was scored by their top scorer Philip Muchuma. Joe Waithera grabbed the consolation goal for the visitors. It was the first match for Chemelil interim boss Charles Odera following Patrick Odhiambo's departure from the club a few days ago.
In his post-match interview, Ouna said Chemelil's first-half dominance and his side's wastefulness resulted in the loss to the Kisumu based Millers.
"Our opponents dominated the first half and really utilised the chances they got. In the second half, we dominated the match after making a tactical switch but failed to utilise the chances as compared to our opponents. The state of the pitch was bad and we had to change our normal system of play and be more direct but in the end, we lost and we now have to shift focus to our nest match, " he said.
Wazito plays league leaders Mathare United on Saturday 21st April at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
