Ulinzi Stars defender Omar Mbongi is hoping to recover and return to action soon, to be able to aid his team, which has been struggling lately in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
Mbongi has been out since March with a pelvic bone injury and says he still has four weeks out to recuperate. He is stressed at the team’s lack of wins, especially now that the side has failed to win in the last three matches.
The defender captained the team for the opening four matches of the season, before goalkeeper James Saruni returned, he said it is tough being out and wants to be back to fight for his place.
“It is tough being out; I miss the game and I miss the pressures of being out there fighting for my team. It is still painful and I have been advised not to even kick a ball, so you can imagine. I pray it recovers soon enough, but I am positive and going through each day with hope. I still have four weeks to go,” he says on the club’s website.
