Posta Rangers, Gor Mahia round 23 clash called-off
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash between Posta Rangers and Gor Mahia that was slated to be played this coming weekend on Sunday 15 July at the Narok Stadium has been postponed by the league organizers.
The information coming from the KPL on their social media handles does not reveal the reason of the postponement but it could be down to the fact that Gor are currently in Tanzania for the ongoing 2018 Kagame Cup where they are slated to play in a third place decider against Zanzibari side Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi (JKU) on Friday 13, a day before the Posta game.
Gor missed out on the final after falling to defending champions Azam FC 2-0 in the Kagame Cup semis.
Though away and with three games in hand, Dylan Kerr’s charges currently lead the league standings with 49 points and after the latest postponement will now have four games in hand.
Still unbeaten in the season, K’Ogalo have claimed 15 victories from the 19 games they have contested including their last six.
The 16 time Kenyan champions are also in the group stages of the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup where they lie second in Group D with two points after drawing their first two games. They have also contested the annual SportPesa Super Cup where they defended their title and will now face off with English Premier League side Everton FC at their Goodison Park grounds later on this month.
