Keïta idolised Barcelona legend Andrés Iniesta growing up, and although there are similarities between the two, Liverpool's new midfielder is a more aggressive, direct player. The Guinean star has a low centre of gravity and is an all-rounder of an attacking midfielder; he likes to play short passes, shoot from range, attempt ambitious through-balls & final passes and an excellent off-the-ball mover. Keïta also likes to get stuck in and make a defensive contribution, working hard for the team. Liverpool has signed an all-action operator with a lot of talents and a variety of qualities that will be useful in the Premier League.
While Keïta does contribute decisively to matches with goals, assists and successful dribbles, he also tends to be indisciplined at the best of times. The stats above will show that the ex RB Leipzig man picked up 7 yellow cards and 2 reds last season in the Bundesliga and his aggression is a quality that he will have to channel positively if he is to thrive in the fast-paced English Premier League. It's a far way off, but Liverpool's first Merseyside Derby of the season against Liverpool is on 1 December. Put it in your diary.
