Everton complete the signing of Barcelona midfielder
Everton have had a busy transfer deadline day signing Yerri Mina, Bernard and just when you thought it was over they have completed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes on a season long loan.
The signing of Andre Gomez means that Everton have brought in three Barcelona players in this transfer window after previously completing the singing of left back Lucas Digne, center back Yerri Mina and the lastest addition of Portuguese Gomes. The midfielder had a season to forget at Barcelona making 16 league appearances and without registering any goal.
The arrival of Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich further limited his chances of featuring for the Catalan based club. The 25 year old will end his two year stay at Barcelona after making the switching from Valencia for €37m on a five year deal in a high-profile move. The poor season at Barcelona last season ulitimately costed him a place on the Portugese national team after he missed Fernando Santos’ Portuguese squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Gomes has 29 international caps for Portugal, playing in a variety of midfield roles, and was part of the 2016 European Championship winning squad. He will compete for places with Gylfi Sigurdsson, Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davis.
