Shikanda: Preparations for Ushuru clash going smoothly
The highlight match of round 26 of the National Super League (NSL) will see Nairobi Stima host Ushuru FC on Sunday 12th August and Stima head coach Ibrahim Shikanda says preparations for the clash are going as planned.
The two sides have placed themselves in the frame for promotion come end of the season thanks to their impressive form that has them as the two most in-form sides in the division.
Stima in fourth place on the log possess the longest unbeaten run this season that currently stands at 17 games while Ushuru who occupy second place, have the second best streak which is only a game short at 16 matches without defeat.
Both teams last lost a league fixture in March and coincidentally for Stima, their last defeat came at the hands of Sunday’s opponents, a 3-1 reversal at the Camp Toyoyo on match day nine. This scenario coupled with the two sides’ impeccable form, spices up this upcoming fixture and Shikanda says his charges will be ready.
“We are preparing well for our game against Ushuru. We are doing nothing different for this game because we will approach it with the same mentality that we have done throughout the season.
“There is no lesser team in this league, if you are not at the races then you will be dealt with. We expect a tough fixture but our focus is the same and as a team we know what we want.”
The two teams are separated by six points on the standings.
